Interoperability Readiness Levels
The Technology Infusion Working Group (TIWG) presents the group's work on Interoperability Readiness Levels to the ESDSWG meeting.
GREENBELT, Md.,10/14/08 - The TIWG will be presenting a poster at the Seventh ESDSWG Meeting in Philadelphia, PA based on the group's work on Interoperability Readiness Levels.
The Interoperability Readiness Levels (IRLs) describe nine levels of interoperability for Earth science data systems and were inspired by NASA's Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and the Reuse Working Group's Reuse Readiness Levels (RRLs). Each interoperability level represents an increased ability for a system to interoperate with other systems based on four key interoperability dimensions; discovery, access, data, and understanding.
The IRLs are currently designated as draft for review.
