Standards
Each document that is submitted to the SPG for processing is called a "Request For Comment" document or RFC. The RFC number remains constant throughout the process and thus serves as a convenient shorthand for the standard.
This table lists all RFC's, either in-process or final.

- ESDS-RFC
- Each RFC receives a number. Once approved as "Final", the RFC text is never changed in a substantive way. Editorial changes are collected in an errata document until the RFC Editor and the Standards Process Group decide to update the document. Technical changes would require that a new RFC number be issued and the new RFC would need to be submitted as a new RFC.
- Title
- Clicking on the title will lead you directly to the RFC document or to a folder containing the document.
- Revision
- Revision numbers beginning with "0." are for in-process RFCs. Revision 1 is for Final RFCs. Other revision numbers will be assigned if the document is changed.
- Class
- Technical Notes are informational notes. Standards Track documents are in-process to become standards. Standards are final standards.
- Status
- Draft means the document is being reviewed. Pending means the document is awaiting final approval. Final means the document has passed through the entire process successfully.
- Errata
- If "yes", clicking on the link leads to the errata document for the RFC.
