2008 AGU Fall Meeting (San Francisco, California, from 2008-12-15 12:00 AM to 2008-12-19 12:00 AM)
The Fall Meeting provides an opportunity for researchers, teachers, students, and consultants to present and review the latest issues affecting the Earth, the planets, and their environments in space. This meeting will cover topics in all areas of Earth and space sciences.
2009 ESIP Federation Winter Meeting (Washington, D.C., from 2009-01-06 12:00 AM to 2009-01-08 12:00 AM)
The meeting and workshop program is built around a theme of Data Policy. A line up of speakers has been invited to explore ways in which the ESIP Federation can actively contribute to the climate change conversation.
AGU 2009 Joint Assembly (Toronto, Canada, from 2009-05-24 12:00 AM to 2009-05-27 12:00 AM)
This is a joint meeting of the AGU with the Canadian Geophysical Union (CGU), the Geological Association of Canada (GAC), the International Association of Hydrogeologists -- Canadian National Chapter (IAH-CNC), and the Mineralogical Association of Canada (MAC). Session proposals are due Nov. 5, 2008, and abstract submissions are due March 4, 2009.

2009 World Congress in Computer Science (WORLDCOMP'09) (Las Vegas, Nevada, from 2009-07-13 12:00 AM to 2009-07-16 12:00 AM)
WORLDCOMP'09 gathers researchers in computer science, computer engineering and applied computing and brings 22 planned major conferences together into a coordinated research meeting held in a common place at a common time to facilitate communication among researchers in different fields of computer science and computer engineering. Session/workshop proposals are due January 16, 2009, and paper submissions are due February 25, 2009.
2009 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS 2009) (Capetown, South Africa, from 2009-07-13 09:00 PM to 2009-07-17 09:00 PM)
The IGARSS’09 Technical Program will highlight themes that have a strong link to the development of the African continent, as well as themes that have international relevance. The standard session topics include land, oceans, atmosphere, cryosphere, analysis techniques, applications, electromagnetics and radiative transfer, sensors and platforms, and education and policy. Abstract submission deadline is January 4, 2009.

O'Reilly Open Source Convention 2009 (OSCON 2009) (San Jose, California, from 2009-07-20 12:00 AM to 2009-07-24 12:00 AM)
OSCON 2009 will explore what's new in open source and help define, maintain, and extend the identity of what it means to be open source. One of its major themes will be opening the minds of the open source community to the practical possibilities of its future. Call for participation deadline is February 2009.
2009 IEEE International Conference on Information Reuse and Integration (IRI-09) (Las Vegas, Nevada, from 2009-08-10 12:00 AM to 2009-08-12 12:00 AM)
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2009, the IEEE IRI conference provides an international forum for information reuse and integration researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to explore cutting-edge ideas and results, and to exchange techniques, tools, and experiences. Workshop and special session proposals are due January 20, 2009, and paper submissions are due February 18, 2009.
Geoinformatics 2009 (Fairfax, Virginia, from 2009-08-12 12:00 AM to 2009-08-14 12:00 AM)
The International Conference on Geoinformatics is an annual forum for Geospatial Information Science Professionals, and provides an opportunity for all professionals involved in GIS, GPS, and RS research and development to discuss new ways to advance the theory, technology, and applications of GIScience. Abstract submission deadline is February 15, 2009.
AIAA Space 2009 (Pasadena, California, from 2009-09-14 12:00 AM to 2009-09-17 12:00 AM)
The AIAA SPACE 2009 Conference & Exposition will examine issues in areas such as the U.S. government's space modernization program, transitioning from the Space Shuttle to Constellation, and how a globalized economy shapes the market. Some topics include what the second 50 years in space will bring, shifting to a knowledge-based economy, and solutions to climate change. The abstract submission deadline is January 20, 2009.

Geological Society of America 2009 Annual Meeting (Portland, Oregon, from 2009-10-18 12:00 AM to 2009-10-21 12:00 AM)
This year's theme is "From Volcanoes to Vineyards: Living with Dynamic Landscapes" and the meeting will include technical sessions, field trips, and short courses. The technical session proposal deadline is January 6, 2009.
Free and Open Source Software for Geoinformatics 2009 (FOSS4G) (Sydney, Australia, from 2009-10-20 12:00 AM to 2009-10-23 12:00 AM)
FOSS4G 2009 Sydney will be the seventh "formal" conference of the open source geospatial community and is expected to focus on the increasing importance of FOSS4G in the public and private enterprise. Carrying on the FOSS4G conference tradition, 2009 will present a comprehensive agenda, combining content from across the geospatial spectrum.
